Fare Analysis: Avo Power Salad from Alive and Well

The Trio of Salads for $10.99 is a great deal at Alive and Well, but today I just wanted the Avo Power Salad. I got a hefty portion in the 18 oz container, just over a half pound, so it was about $9.

The salad is not your typical light fare. This one has a rich sesame dressing that holds it all together. Ripe chunks of avocado, kale, and romaine. I love all the shades of green in this salad. When you need a salad that sticks to your ribs this is the ticket.

The salad is predressed. The kale is the backbone ingredient, it stays crisp, but has a chance to absorb the dressing. The romaine is wilted, but makes delicious little clumps with the avo. The avo almost liquifies in some parts, with little buttery bits turning into a dressing of sorts.
